A Glorious Dawn

The sky calls to us
If we do not destroy ourselves

Sitting on a methane sea at temperatures that would freeze most organic life, resting atop an ultra-light jellyfish filled with helium, Axel-13 stares up at the rise of a galaxy. Positioned far from the galactic arm, the rogue planet's star drifts far below the quasar that floats at the centre of our local galaxy. For a moment, he ponders his beginnings as an organic lifeform; a moment that lasts 0.67 seconds, thanks to his ultra-fast diamond-based quantum mental computer.

To think that so much of his kind died before they could experience such things...

I was reading some transhumanist stuff and listening to A Glorious Dawn and this kinda fell out of my head.

I should've put way more thought into the background. I was low on ideas for it, someone suggested a giant jellyfish and I worked it in.

Really, Trans-Axel is the focus here. I love the way he came out. Everything else sort of detracts from his awesome shine.
